Description

Today it is worth eating an extensive breakfast, because today's stage will be challenging. Shortly after leaving Triacastela, the continuous climb of about 5 kilometers will begin, and then we will follow the mountain ridge in a pleasant up and down. If the visibility is good, we have a wonderful view of Galicia from up here, through which we have hiked in the past few days. If we pass the often photographed sculpture of the pilgrim at Alto San Roque, who is bracing himself against the stormy wind and holding on to his floppy hat, then we will soon have reached our stage goal today. The border between the regions of Galicia, Castile and Léon also runs on this ridge. The pilgrim hostel at O Cebreiro is modern and spacious, because pilgrims who come from the eastern side have had an arduous climb, and you can hardly send anyone up here on the ridge.
