Feeder route: Jerusalem Way of the Kings

This feeder route - the Roman route of antiquity and the imperial cathedrals - takes up the oldest traces of the early Christian dioceses that already existed at the time of the Constantinian revolution in 313, when the first Jerusalem pilgrims of the 4th century. set off: From Cologne via Bonn and Linz on the Rhine to Bingen and via the imperial cathedrals of the Holy Roman Empire Mainz, Worms and Speyer via the Jerusalem towns of Bad Wimpfen and Esslingen. From there via Barbarossa's place of origin, the Hohenstaufen near Göppingen with Barbarossa Church, to the Holy Cross Minster in Schwäbisch Gmünd and further through the Ries to the former Free Imperial City of Donauwörth, where splinters from the cross of Jesus have been in the Holy Cross Church for almost 1000 years from Jerusalem are venerated in the Donauwörth cross particle monstrance.
