Description

This stage in the Haute-Loire department also takes place in the Massif Central. We will be at an altitude of 800 to 1000 meters above sea level, which knows pleasant temperatures in summer. The areas on the right and left of our path are mainly used for agriculture. From the starting point at Saint-Jeures at around 1050 meters above sea level, the first thing is to go down. The largest place during today's stage is Tence shortly before the middle of the route, there we cross the «Le Lignon» stream over an old stone bridge. The stage town of Montfaucon-en-Velay is a rather small, picturesque place. The sight here is the Church of Notre-Dame with the well-known 12 panels by the Flemish painter Abel Grimmer from 1592, which represent the life of Christ.
