Description

This stage is again a relatively short and flat stage, which can be combined with the previous stage depending on your mood. The stage location Saint-Genix-Sur-Guiers, however, is almost inevitable again, because it is the starting point for a strenuous mountain stage. Even today it is interesting to observe in which direction we hike: the route leads in a north-easterly direction to the church near Romagnieu. Shortly afterwards we come to the river «Le Guiers», which we then follow down to the stage in a north-northwest direction. This river also represents the border between the departments of Isère and Savoie, a border that we cross on the bridge to the stage. After crossing the Rhône recently and then leaving it again, we will come close to it again today. The stage town of Saint-Genix -Sur-Guiers is, as the name suggests, on the banks of the Guiers just before it flows into the Rhône.
