Today a highlight awaits us in the truest sense of the word! After Telfs, we head up to the Peace Bell in Mösern, which is the largest free-standing bell in the entire Northern Alps! And after the strenuous climb, a special view of the Inn Valley awaits us on the Jerusalem Way. Fantastic!

Up here in Mösern, there is a church, a small shop with a bakery & café, restaurants, and accommodations / guesthouses / hotels.

TIP: Since today’s stage to Innsbruck is over 30 kilometers long and has a lot of elevation gain, but the bell doesn’t ring until 5 PM, we OPTIONALLY recommend not going all the way to Innsbruck today, but “only” the stretch from Telfs up to Mösern and staying overnight there. This gives you enough time in the morning to see Telfs and you can take the climb slowly to still arrive at the bell in time in the afternoon: This stage has about 550 meters of elevation gain and is 10 kilometers long.

For well-trained or “hurried” pilgrims, the journey continues after a well-deserved break in Mösern (without the bell ringing). The path then leads down with a beautiful view to reach the Inn Valley again, where we walk on the left side of the river, sometimes directly along the banks of the Inn, through Tyrolean villages and also on scenic paths in the Inn Valley area. In the area of Innsbruck Kranebitten Airport, it is quite an experience when a taking-off or landing plane thunders just over our heads, as our path crosses the runway axis in the immediate vicinity.

On this stage, the Via Romea also crosses our path; the Rome Way is a cooperation partner of the Jerusalem Way. The pilgrimage route comes from northern Germany and leads through this area via Seefeld in Tyrol, through Innsbruck, and then further south over the Brenner Pass to Rome. Our stage destination, Innsbruck, is the capital of Tyrol, and our path ends at the Cathedral Square in Innsbruck’s old town at St. James’ Cathedral; shortly before that, we pass the so-called “Golden Roof,” the landmark of the state capital! The pilgrimage community located in the cathedral parish is happy to attend to the needs and concerns of pilgrims.
