Historic Moment for the Jerusalem Way in its Founding Region
New Signage and New Pilgrim Passports for the Founding Region – for the first time with a new map and 20 countries
On May 29, 2026, the new signage and new pilgrim passports with the updated map of the Jerusalem Way arrived – for the first time with 20 countries. This marks another visible step in the LEADER project “Professionalization of the Jerusalem Way in the Founding Region – Local Roots, Global Peace Route“:
The Jerusalem Way, the world’s longest peace and pilgrimage route, is being strengthened in its region of origin and founding (Danube Region tourism region in Upper Austria / LEADER region Perg Strudengau) and at the same time presented in its international dimension as an intercultural path of encounter. Locally rooted in Upper Austria – internationally connected with Europe and Jerusalem.
Invitation: Be There – and take a step for peace with us!
The Jerusalem Way connects people, places, and cultures. In July, this connection will be particularly visible in Upper Austria: in Linz, the City of Peace on the Danube, and in Arbing, the founding place of the Jerusalem Way. We warmly invite you to join us, walk with us, and together make a strong statement for peace, encounter, and solidarity.

In Linz, we celebrate the arrival of the international PEACEWALK on the Jerusalem Way / JERUSALEM WAY. A festive gathering is planned for around 2:00 PM at the New City Hall and at the Jerusalem Way Peace Dove – with musical accompaniment and a joint sign for peace.
Followed by the Jerusalem Way Summer Festival: In the evening, starting around 5:00 PM, we celebrate in 4341 Arbing, the founding place of the Jerusalem Way. Registration is required for the Summer Festival: info@jerusalemway.org

The event also marks the conclusion of the LEADER project “Professionalization of the Jerusalem Way in the Founding Region – Local Roots, Global Peace Route”.
