On the JERUSALEM WAY, Syria is a historical and spiritual bridge between Anatolia, Mesopotamia, Arabia, and the Mediterranean. The corridor connects sites of early Christianity, significant monastic and pilgrimage traditions, and cities where Islamic and Christian memories meet. From St. Simeon and the late antique villages of northern Syria, the historical line leads via Aleppo, Hama, and Homs to Krak des Chevaliers. In the Qalamun Mountains, Maaloula and the Monastery of Saint Thecla, Cherubim, and Saidnaya follow. Damascus, with the Umayyad Mosque, the tradition of John the Baptist, the Straight Street, and Bab Kisan, forms a spiritual highlight. The corridor continues via Bosra into Jordan and the Holy Land. This section represents the hope that from deep wounds, paths of encounter, dignity, and peace can one day emerge again.
