Belorado – Santo Domingo de la Calzada

From Belorado, the Jerusalem Way leads via Grañón and Redecilla del Camino from Castile and León to La Rioja. The landscape is increasingly shaped by fields and the first wine-growing areas. Santo Domingo de la Calzada is inseparably linked to the history of the Camino de Santiago. Saint Domingo devoted his life to building paths, bridges and shelters for pilgrims. In the cathedral, the famous legend of the rooster and the hen still commemorates the city’s centuries-old pilgrim culture to this day.
