San Juan de Ortega – Belorado

From San Juan de Ortega, the Jerusalem Way continues eastward through the forests of the Montes de Oca and over smaller elevations. After Villafranca Montes de Oca, the landscape opens up again, and the route eventually reaches Belorado at the foot of the Sierra de la Demanda. The town has a medieval core and a long tradition as a station on the Camino Francés. This stage connects quiet mountain and forest sections with the transition into a more open cultural landscape.
