This is the first of seven stages on the international peace and culture route! The Jerusalem Way connects 15 countries and the continents of Europe and Asia with the Holy Land and, at approximately 7,500 kilometers, is the longest peace route. Core message: “From the end of the old world in Finisterre through the heart of Europe to the beginning in Jerusalem”.
We experience the very special landscape and cultural highlights, hiking from the Spanish Atlantic coast in Finisterre—the end of the old world and at the same time the beginning of the Jerusalem Way—to Santiago de Compostela, through the Cantabrian Mountains and the Meseta, and after crossing the Pyrenees we reach the pilgrimage stronghold of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France!
