Installation of Peace Dove in Arbing – Founding Place of the Jerusalem Way!

A truly moving moment took place on June 28, 2025!

In the village square in front of Arbing parish church, a handcrafted stainless steel Jerusalem Way Peace Dove was ceremoniously installed as part of an international peace march – at the historic founding place of the Jerusalem Way in Arbing. A powerful symbol of peace, connection, and hope.

Around 150 pilgrims from the region, from various Austrian federal states, and participants from five other countries (Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Italy) sent a strong signal for peace during the inter-municipal pilgrimage day.

Under the motto “Pilgrimage for Peace / Pilgrims of Hope”, the shared path led from Schwertberg via Naarn to Arbing (22 km) – with families, young people, and even an 85-year-old pilgrim taking part.

Highlight of the Day

As a festive conclusion, the Jerusalem Way Peace Dove was installed in Arbing at 5:00 PM – that special place where the Jerusalem Way was founded in 2010 (see Route & GPS from Arbing on the Jerusalem Way here).

The Arbing brass band and a children’s choir musically accompanied the ceremony, giving a voice to the younger generation’s hope for peace – a strong sign of intergenerational commitment to remembrance and reconciliation.

HEARTFELT THANKS go to all dedicated people from Arbing, Schwertberg, and Naarn who made this worthy gesture possible for the 15th anniversary. Further information can be found on the information board at the Peace Dove.
