Eikosifoinissa Monastery – Philippi – Lydia – Kavala / Neapolis

From Eikosifoinissa Monastery, the Jerusalem Way leads to Philippi. The UNESCO World Heritage Site lies on the ancient Via Egnatia and became an early center of Christianity after the Apostle Paul’s visit. Basilicas, forum, and theater reveal the city’s significance. At the Lydia Memorial Site, the route recalls Europe’s first Christian community. It then reaches Kavala, ancient Neapolis, where Paul first set foot on European soil coming from Alexandria Troas.
