Journey II/VII: France

We begin in France at the foot of the Pyrenees in the pilgrim stronghold of St.-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and traverse all of France, starting from the Pyrenees, through the Massif Central, to the foothills of the Alps, where we eventually cross the border into Switzerland on foot near Geneva.

The end, in turn, becomes the beginning: The next stage on the Jerusalem Way is incomparable to all stages between Spain and the Holy Land! Journey section III leads us across the Alps into the heart of Europe! Fascinating landscapes, mountains, river valleys, and lakes from Lake Geneva all the way to the global metropolis of Vienna, which is also the largest city on the Danube! This is the perfect transition to the pilgrimage through the heart of Europe (Part III / VII). JERUSALEM, HERE WE COME!
