Ar-Ramtha – Jerash / Gerasa – Amman
In Ar-Ramtha, the officially approved JERUSALEM WAY / AL-QUDS WAY through Jordan begins. The long section leads through the northern Jordanian cultural landscape to Jerash, ancient Gerasa. Colonnaded streets, temples, theaters, and early Christian churches make this former Decapolis city one of the great cultural sites along the route. Afterward, the route continues through hilly landscapes and settlements to Amman. The capital combines the Citadel, Roman theater, and Arab present and deserves a stay of its own.
