From Janjevo, the Jerusalem Way leads through the rural south of Kosovo via the Gjilan area to Letnica. The Marian pilgrimage church with the Black Madonna has been a destination for pilgrims of various origins for centuries. In Letnica, the young Gonxha Bojaxhiu, later Mother Teresa, made her decision for a religious and missionary life. The route then continues through quiet villages and border landscapes into North Macedonia. This section makes the religious diversity and the peace-building power of pilgrimage particularly tangible.
