Every journey begins with a first step ...

The Jerusalem Way is the world's longest pilgrimage and an international peace and culture route!

The Jerusalem Way connects religions and peoples in a unique peace project.

The Jerusalem Way stands for mutual recognition and tolerance.

Love, the most powerful force in the universe, penetrates, illuminates everything and builds bridges between all people!

Pilgrims create openness to encounters, dismantle prejudices and fears, and strengthen trust - basic trust. The supposed boundaries between peoples and religions can be bridged by individuals with love and mutual respect.

Greece

The route through Greece is about 550 km. GPS is available in the webshop, there are further details about the GPS and how to use the app.

General information on marking: Many areas and sections in the over 15 countries on JERUSALEMWEG / JERUSALEM WAY have been marked in recent years. Work is in progress on the completion.

GREECE / TURKEY border crossing info (border Kipoi / Ipsala): You have to drive a vehicle across the border. The easiest way is to order a taxi in the coffee house. The cafe is a few meters before the Greek border control point, then continue with the taxi to the Turkish border control, that's all! ;-) Several pilgrims have done it this way without any problems. See here for example

Below is a sample GPS stage from GREECE.

From the travel diary: The heat still keeps us glowing in Greece. The Kerkini lake offers a little cooling. The landscape is hilly and you can already guess the sea - and in Kavala, ancient Neapoli, we are standing on the beach for the first time. We will follow his paths on foot to Damascus in Syria, but for now we will use a means of pilgrimage and take a ship that will take us to Alexandroupolis. We find traces of the ancient Via Egnatia one last time, then Turkey lies ahead.

Made Macedonia (been wonderful) and arrived in GREECE on SA August 14, 2010. Again after a long time in the EU and 40 degrees of heat for a week !! We sometimes go at night.
