The Way in Serbia
Serbia
From Bačka Palanka, the Jerusalem Way leads via Novi Sad, the Petrovaradin Fortress and Sremski Karlovci with the Chapel of Peace to Belgrade. Kalemegdan and the confluence of the Sava and Danube mark the transition from the Pannonian Plain to Central Serbia. Via Ljig, Čačak and Kraljevo, the route reaches the monasteries of Žiča, Studenica and Gradac, and then follows the Ibar on to the Kosovo border. Cities, monasteries and vast historical landscapes make Serbia a key part of the Balkan route.
