Description
Most of the countries on our globe are divided into government or administrative units, which are called, for example, federal states, cantons or regions. In Hungary these units are called «counties». Hungary has 19 counties and 24 cities with county law. We have already got to know two of these counties, namely first «Györ-Moson-Sopron» and then «Komárom-Esztergom», from where we start today. We will then hike most of the stage in the «Fejér» county and shortly after Mány in the «Pest» county, where the stage town of Zsámbék is also located. The Pest Konitat includes the areas around Budapest, but the city of Budapest itself is then one of the 24 cities with its own county law. Today's stage is the second to last before Budapest and leads us through slightly undulating area south-east. Shortly after leaving Tárján we come to a beautiful, long lake where we walk past a number of fishing huts. On the further way to Mány we come through a beautiful landscape to the small street village Vasztély, which only has around 200 inhabitants. We leave the village and hike through a hilly landscape to Mány, a place in the Zsàmbéker basin that is over 900 years old and surrounded by the Gerecse and Vértes mountains. We reach Zsámbék via dirt roads, where the path leads uphill to a hill at the entrance to the village, from where there is a wonderful view of the Zsámbéker basin and the town of Zsámbék. Today's stage ends at the Catholic Church in Zsámbék.
