Description

After leaving the city center of Burgos, we pass large industrial zones and the Aeropuerto de Villafría before we are released back into a quieter and less traffic-free landscape and agricultural zone. Atapuerca is a great place to take a break. The monastery of San Juan on the way to the Montes de Oca has long been a traditional pilgrimage stop, long before a public bus established the connection with Burgos. So if you don't want to wander through the industrial zone, you can do it like the locals - with public transport.
