Every journey begins with a first step ...

The Jerusalem Way is the world's longest pilgrimage and an international peace and culture route!

The Jerusalem Way connects religions and peoples in a unique peace project.

The Jerusalem Way stands for mutual recognition and tolerance.

Love, the most powerful force in the universe, penetrates, illuminates everything and builds bridges between all people!

Pilgrims create openness to encounters, dismantle prejudices and fears, and strengthen trust - basic trust. The supposed boundaries between peoples and religions can be bridged by individuals with love and mutual respect.

Description

Reminder if this was forgotten in the lecture: In the monastery of the Franciscan Sisters of Vöcklabruck you get that Jerusalem Way stamp and in the small shop you can buy a small peace dove made of olive wood, made in the Holy Land! The pigeons fit wonderfully as a pendant on a backpack, fanny pack, bracelet, or as a small souvenir or gift.

On today's stage, several spiritual highlights await us, after we have passed the historic town square of Vöcklabruck we come to the following Mariana Heights, a special and meditative place to stop, the beech forest is also a popular circular hiking trail. Then we go on and see the Puchheim Castle on the right Pilgrimage basilica Maria Puchheim, worth seeing!

From now on and in the following days, the path is basically flat, i.e. with only a few meters in altitude. In this flat area we come through many agricultural cultivation areas, but also repeatedly through settlements. The routes near the Ager, which we have already announced as a guide, are particularly beautiful. So when we meet the Ager we can assume that we are still on the right path to get to Jerusalem for the time being. Along the Ager we come across gravel ponds like at Redlham, which are also known as "quarry ponds".

The topic of "orientation aid" is therefore not an issue, we practically hike the entire stage on left-bank paths. Only in the Schwanenstadt area do we briefly leave the Ager and come into town and to the parish church. After leaving the city, we meet the Ager again on the outskirts of the village, along this we hike left bank again until the Ager flows into the Traun just before Lambach. We reach our daily goal Lambach and that Lambach Abbeywhere, with a little luck, we can sleep in the old pilgrim room.
