Description

We leave Roppen on the left bank of the Inn and only cross it again before Haiming. Before crossing the north bank, we meet the rafting center Magerbach, which benefits from the clear water of the racy Inn and the unique alpine panorama. This is where the journey through the wild Imster Gorge ends - an Eldorado for rafters and white water canoeists. Later on the way we meet Stams, where the impressive Stams Abbey awaits us. It was Count Meinhard II of Görz-Tirol who founded a monastery here in 1273, which in future was also to serve as a burial place for his family. Stams is also known for its boarding school for skiers, a cadre forge that has produced many well-known athletes. Finally, at the end of the stage, we cross the Inn and find enough offers for food and accommodation in the town of Telfs.
