Every journey begins with a first step ...

The Jerusalem Way is the world's longest pilgrimage and an international peace and culture route!

The Jerusalem Way connects religions and peoples in a unique peace project.

The Jerusalem Way stands for mutual recognition and tolerance.

Love, the most powerful force in the universe, penetrates, illuminates everything and builds bridges between all people!

Pilgrims create openness to encounters, dismantle prejudices and fears, and strengthen trust - basic trust. The supposed boundaries between peoples and religions can be bridged by individuals with love and mutual respect.

We continue our way at Melk Abbey, which today mostly leads us in the vicinity of the Danube area to Spitz in the heart of the “Wachau World Heritage Site”. Immediately after Melk, however, the path leads us to the right up a hill with a beautiful view of Schönbühel, there would also be an opportunity to stay overnight in the hostel «House Patrizia» given.

Today we have something special on the way to Jerusalem! In any case, we should take a look at the monastery with the church in Schönbühel, where you can see the Bethlehem Church and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem! It is a detailed replica, of which there are only three in Europe. For more information see here: Bethlehem and Jerusalem within reach

Timely contact is recommended! Contact: Parish secretariat Mrs. Bettina Plasch-Bugl, phone +43676826633394, pfarre.schoenbuehel@aon.at / www.pfarre-schoenbuehel.at

A narrow path leads from the monastery down to the Danube, now the path remains in the vicinity of the right bank of the Danube, we finally reach the market town of Spitz at the end of the stage with the roller ferry across the Danube. Note the operating hours (see here online). In Spitz we find numerous tourist facilities, a castle and the famous vineyard with various options for bed and breakfast.

And right here next to the taxi ferry we see the next dove of peace on the long way to Jerusalem! A very special place in the heart of the Wachau and right next to the Danube! And there is one Pilgrim stamp! The stamp is in the tourist information office (the office is exactly at the end of the GPS route, about 150 meters after the dove of peace). Note: Ask for the "JERUSALEM WAY stamp" in the office, otherwise you might get some other stamp.
