Description
Today's stage presents its highlight right at the beginning, namely the Pannonhalma monastery. From the Catholic Church we walk a short stretch of road, then a steep but atmospheric ascent follows, first on a footpath and then on a staircase, and we are at the top of the Abbey Mountain. One of the most important buildings in Hungarian history stands here, namely the Benedictine main abbey, which is part of the world heritage. The building is fascinating both because of its architectural architecture and its importance in the history of the church. The main Benedictine Abbey celebrated the Millennium in 1996, with Pope Paul John II also participating in the celebration. The way from the monastery to Táp winds through gardens, weekend houses, meadows and forests, a beautiful landscape. The construction of Táp began at the end of the 1853th century. Century. An important architectural monument in the place is the Táper, the Roman Catholic church built in the baroque style. At the end of the village we pass the Táp open-air museum. An agricultural road then leads us to Tápszentmiklós, where we first see the Catholic Church, then the Reformed Church. The following place Bársonyos is located on a vineyard, let's see if we can enjoy one of these wines for dinner. We pass the Catholic Church and the cemetery here. Through Keréktelek, we continue through an acacia forest, fields and the vineyard from Kisbér to today's stage. Emperor Franz Josef founded the horse breeding establishment here in XNUMX and the horse stud based on his professional knowledge. Today the buildings of the Hungarian Royal Stables are a reminder of this. Kisbér is a lively small town with many sights, accommodation and restaurants.
