Description

During this stage in the Isère department, we walk almost exactly eastwards to Le Grand-Lemps. In this section we pass a number of castles. Then the direction turns to north-east, and the first thing we do is cross a transition. From this height we can enjoy a backward view of the Plaine de Bièvre with Grenoble airport. After this transition we now come to a sparsely populated area. Towards the end of the stage, between Chassigneux and Le Pin, we come across the “Ancienne Abbaye Chartreuse de Sylve Bénite” Carthusian monastery, which is now privately owned and cannot be visited. At the small stage town of Le Pin, we can decide whether a swim in Lac de Paladru, located about 1 km southeast, is desired, or whether we have hiked enough for today and prefer to relax in the village.
