Description

Today we hike the last stage in the Gers department, a department in which we spent a few days. At the beginning of the route we hike a little away from traffic, but that will change again as the stage progresses. In Castet-Arrouy, a small church invites you to visit. Miradoux also has two attractions: the Saint-Orens church has a single nave, with several chapels, and the old market hall is also worth seeing. In Flamarens there is a halfway collapsed church as well as an imposing château right next to it, but the ravages of time have already gnawed at it. A plaque indicates that donations are being collected for the renovation.

Located at the end of the Gers department, Saint-Antoine is a small place. But the church has one attraction: the painted ceiling. This is well preserved and the portal reflects the influence from the period when Spain was occupied by the Arabs/Moors. Shortly after leaving Saint-Antoine we come to a new department, the name of this department is formed by 2 important French rivers, namely «Tarn-et-Garonne». Tomorrow we will reach the river Garonne over a hill near Auvillar.
