Description

We leave La Romieu and make our way to Lectoure. Towards the end of the stage, we cross the river "Le Gers" and have thus soon reached the day's destination, Lectoure. The river "Le Gers" is also the namesake for the department that we cross for a few days. Lectoure is one of the oldest settlements in the Gers department and was once an episcopal city. At that time, the city had several pilgrim hospices, but today it is no longer as important as it was then. The Saint-Gervais Cathedral is well worth seeing and gives us a sense of how important Lectoure once was.
