Description

Today's stage in the Isère department no longer takes place on the heights, as we got used to in the Massif Central, we will move between 200 and 400 meters above sea level today, which means that the temperatures will be a little higher again. After we have crossed the Rhone plain, we leave behind us a main French traffic axis with a lot of shipping traffic on the Rhône, motorways, TGV and a lot of industry. The way to the Alps will be calmer and more harmonious. In the first part of the stage we pass the Carmel Notre-Dame de Surieu monastery, one of the highlights of this section. On the plateau at around 400 meters above sea level, in the second part of the stage, we will meet a TGV track, on which, with a little luck, we will see one of the French high-speed trains pass, a showpiece of French engineering. Why not think for a moment about the speed difference between such a train and a simple pilgrim !?
