Every journey begins with a first step ...

The Jerusalem Way is the world's longest pilgrimage and an international peace and culture route!

The Jerusalem Way connects religions and peoples in a unique peace project.

The Jerusalem Way stands for mutual recognition and tolerance.

Love, the most powerful force in the universe, penetrates, illuminates everything and builds bridges between all people!

Pilgrims create openness to encounters, dismantle prejudices and fears, and strengthen trust - basic trust. The supposed boundaries between peoples and religions can be bridged by individuals with love and mutual respect.

Feeder route: Jerusalem route of the monasteries

This feeder route traces the era of denominational and political religious boundaries and reconciliation: It begins at the southern end point of the “Green Band”, the former border and death strip of the division of Germany. From there it leads past important baroque churches such as the Kappl and the Waldsassen monastery - past the JERUSALEMWEG dove of peace - and then meets the other two feeder routes in Passau (Way of Kings / Way of the Apostles).

The whole route Volkenroda - Waldsassen - Passau is about 600 km. The Waldsassen monastery is exactly halfway, from there to Passau it is almost 300 km. The city of Waldsassen and the monastery of Waldsassen are partners of the Jerusalemweg. See also directions and accommodation on our partner site VIA PORTA
