>>> Walking together – across borders, towards peace <<

Love is the strongest force in the universe – it permeates and connects everything and builds bridges between all people. Pilgrimage creates openness for encounters, breaks down prejudices and fears, and strengthens trust – fundamental trust. In this way, supposed boundaries between peoples and religions can be Love and mutual respect be overcome.

We continue on the left side of the Inn, meet the Vomperberg near Vomp and come directly to the Benedictine Fiecht.

Now we are reaching several highlights on the Jerusalemweg Austria!

After the monastery, the path leads us up the mountain slope on the left and passes in Weng to the left hand on the side of the path Jerusalem cross! For us this is a wonderful sign and reminds us that we are on the way to the greatest pilgrimage destination of Christianity to Jerusalem! A place to pause, to look back on what has been experienced, to be grateful and to pray. We continue uphill step by step until we finally reach St. Georgenberg over a remarkable wooden bridge. Here is the oldest place of pilgrimage in Tyrol and one of the oldest and highest places of pilgrimage in Austria! This remote place, an old hermitage, is wonderful. Once at the top, body and soul are also well taken care of: the monastery and tavern await the pilgrim. Strengthened, the path leads us down through the impressive Wolfsklamm into the valley to Stans.

The Wolfsklamm is a natural monument. Experts refer to the Wolfsklamm as the most beautiful gorge in the Alps!

Alternative: In bad weather, you can continue from the Fiecht Abbey down in the valley. So get directly to Stans without St. Georgenberg and Wolfsklamm, this is about 4,5 km shorter.

Once in Stans, the Jerusalemweg leads us to the imposing Tratzberg Castle! Then it goes downhill and reaches the Achsenseekraftwerk, which is fed by the Achensee to the north in the mountains (the largest lake in Tyrol!). We reach Jenbach where we now switch to the right side of the Inn and then reach Maria Brettfall, and at the end of the day the picturesque stage town of Strass im Zillertal awaits us. Strass is just before the Ziller flows into the Inn.

The stage has a total of about 1.000 vertical meters, if necessary you can already spend the night in Jenbach. However, the many sights from this stage, in just 1 day, are hard to beat. We will certainly remember it for a long time.
