Every journey begins with a first step ...

Today is a highlight in the truest sense! We then come up to Telfs Peace bell Mösern, this is the one largest free-standing bell in the entire Northern Alps! And after the strenuous climb, we also have a special view along the Jerusalemweg into the Inn Valley. Fantastic!

Up here in Mösern there is a church, a small shop with a bakery & coffee house, restaurants and accommodation / guest houses / hotels.

TIP: As today's stage to Innsbruck has over 30 kilometers and many meters in altitude, but the bell doesn't ring until 17 p.m., we recommend OPTIONAL not to go to Innsbruck today, but "only" the route from Telfs to Mösern and there to spend the night. This gives you enough time in the morning to watch Telfs and you can carefully climb the climb to still get to the bell in good time in the afternoon: this stage has a height of around 550 meters and is 10 kilometers long.

Well-trained or “in a hurry” pilgrims can continue after a well-earned break in Mösern (without ringing bells). The path then leads downwards with a beautiful view to reach the Inn Valley again, where we hike on the left side of the river, sometimes directly along the banks of the Inn, through Tyrolean villages and also on scenic paths in the Inn Valley. In the area of ​​Innsbruck Kranebitten Airport, it is an experience when an aircraft taking off or landing thunders just over our heads because our path crosses the runway axis in the immediate vicinity.

At this stage the also crosses Via Romea our way, the Romweg is a cooperation partner of the Jerusalemweg. The pilgrimage route comes from northern Germany and leads here in the area via Seefeld in Tirol via Innsbruck and then via the Brenner Pass further south to Rome. Our stage destination Innsbruck is the provincial capital of Tyrol, and our route ends on the Domplatz in Innsbruck's old town at Jakobsdom, shortly before we pass the so-called "Golden Roof", the landmark of the provincial capital! The pilgrim community in the cathedral parish is happy to take on the needs and concerns of the pilgrims.
