Description

Today's stage is deliberately shorter, which gives us the opportunity to take a look at the Lambach Abbey in peace. Lambach calls itself "The Gate to the Salzkammergut", for us it is the gate to leave the Salzkammergut, too bad, we liked it. The Lambach monastery in the village itself was founded in 1046 and has a rich history, too rich to be summarized here. And the Lambach Abbey is the mother taster of the world-famous Melk Abbey, which is also on Jerusalemweg and we will reach it in nine days. We should take our time to familiarize ourselves with the most important sights and the cornerstones of what is worth knowing.

After the Lambach Monastery, the Traun is now our companion, the river accompanies us, we cover the current route to Wels, so to speak, we hike, it flows. The stage location Wels advertises itself «Wels is located in the heart of the state of Upper Austria and, with a total population of around 63.000, is an attractive place to do business and work.
