History

Our journey followed on the one hand the traces of the Third Crusade and on the other hand the ways of the Apostle Paul. You cannot go through all of these countries from Austria to Israel / Palestine without coming into contact with history at every turn.

In Kosovo on the blackbird field, for example, the place where the decisive battle between the Serbs and the Ottomans took place in 1389, which subsequently influenced the course of European history; Iconium in the Taurus Mountains, where in 1190 the army of the Third Crusade under Emperor Friedrich I, also known as Barbarossa, was almost completely wiped out; the Trojan War, where the "invulnerable" Achilles found his death and the world-famous Trojan horse stands; Antioch on the Orontes, where the oldest Christian church on earth is located and where the apostles Peter, Paul and Barnabas are said to have gathered with the still young Christian community.

Philippi, Troy, Assos, Ephesus, Pergamon, Laodizea, Tarsus, Palmyra, Bosra, Petra are sounding names, the excavations and remains of the ancient cities are impressive.
