Sarria – Samos – Triacastela
From Sarria, the Jerusalem Way follows the particularly scenic variant via Samos. Through narrow valleys, forests, and small villages, you reach the large Benedictine monastery of San Julián de Samos, whose roots date back to the 6th century and which is one of the oldest monasteries in Spain. The route then continues through the narrowing valley; just before Triacastela, there is a small, inviting church in Renche. This stage combines quiet nature with centuries-old monastic tradition and sets the tone for the demanding climb to O Cebreiro.
