Portomarin – Sarria
After crossing the reservoir, the route leads from Portomarín to Sarria through forests, pastureland, and small Galician settlements. The landscape stays green and gently rolling, but several climbs call for a steady pace. Sarria is one of the best-known starting points on the Camino de Santiago, because from here you can cover the final just over 100 kilometers to Santiago. Accordingly, from here on many pilgrims come towards us – a lively contrast to the eastward journey on the Jerusalem Way.
