Ponferrada – Rabanal del Camino
This long and demanding stage leaves the Ponferrada basin and ascends into the Montes de León via Molinaseca, El Acebo, and Foncebadón. Along the way, pilgrims reach the Cruz de Ferro – one of the most famous symbolic places on the Camino de Santiago, where they traditionally leave a stone they have carried. Afterwards, the Jerusalem Way continues over the heights to Rabanal del Camino. The day combines a great physical challenge with impressive mountain landscapes and a place of high spiritual significance.
