Frómista – Castrojeriz
From Frómista, the Canal de Castilla accompanies the first part of the stage. Locks, reed zones, and waterfowl create a soothing contrast to the open Meseta. In Boadilla del Camino, near the church, stands a richly decorated Gothic pillory, a remarkable testament to medieval justice. The Jerusalem Way continues across the Río Pisuerga through the open landscape of Castile. From a distance, Castrojeriz appears below its distinctive castle hill. The elongated town preserves numerous traces of its significance along the medieval pilgrimage route. The combination of hydraulic engineering history, wide fields, and the impressive destination view makes this stage particularly varied.
