Brienz – Flüeli

From Brienz, the Jerusalem Way climbs up to the Brünig Pass. This crossing connects the Bernese Oberland with Central Switzerland and crosses the watershed between the Aare and Reuss rivers. Forests, mountain paths, and steep sections characterize this long stage. After the pass, the route leads towards Obwalden and continues to Flüeli-Ranft, the home and workplace of the Swiss patron saint of peace, Nicholas of Flüe. This physically demanding day ends at one of Switzerland’s most important spiritual sites.
