Aroue – Navarrenx

From Aroue, the Jerusalem Way leads through a varied transitional landscape from the Basque Country into Béarn. Small rivers, meadows, forests and scattered farmsteads shape the route before reaching the fortified town of Navarrenx. Its mighty walls recall the place’s strategic importance and the region’s eventful religious history. This comparatively short stage leaves time to enjoy the old town and the view of the Gave d’Oloron.
