Jerusalem Trail: The City of Peace Linz became a partner in the world's longest Peace Trail!

The installation of the Dove of Peace took place in an interreligious ceremony under the honorary protection of Mayor Klaus Luger and Vice Mayor Karin Hörzing! Present were the President of the Israelite Community of Upper Austria, Charlotte Herman; the Diocesan Bishop of the Catholic Church of Upper Austria, Manfred Scheuer; the Superintendent of the Protestant Church of Upper Austria, Gerold Lehner; the Chairman of the Islamic Religious Community of Upper Austria, Binur Mustafi; the Priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Dragan Micic; the representative of the Baha'i Community, Felix Zimmermann; as well as numerous pilgrims from Austria and abroad and other guests of honor. Program schedule for the ceremony on Saturday, September 23, 2023

 

At 09:00 a.m. meeting point Wilhering Collegiate Church: Pilgrim blessing from Abbot Reinhold Dessl. We walk the 12 km stage together to Linz. Arrival in the main square area at around 13:30 p.m. with a pilgrim snack from the city of Linz in the Atelierhaus Salzamt! Route Wilhering - Linz see here: OPEN ROUTE & GPS HERE

 

At 15:00 p.m. meeting point in the Atelierhaus Salzamt: celebratory speech by Mayor MMag. Klaus Luger as representative of the City of Peace Linz and presentation of the Jerusalemweg peace project Studio house Salzamt.

 

Ceremony begins at 15:30 p.m.: Together we walk along the Friedensweg, the route takes us from the main square over the Nibelungen Bridge to the dove of peace at the New Town Hall.

 

16:00 p.m.: Unveiling and blessing of the Jerusalem Way Peace Dove on the forecourt of the New Town Hall with musical accompaniment by the municipal music department.

 

The installation of the dove of peace takes place in an interreligious ceremony with the President of the Israelite Community of Upper Austria Charlotte Herman, Diocesan Bishop of the Catholic Church of Upper Austria Manfred Scheuer, Superintendent of the Evangelical Church of Upper Austria Gerold Lehner, Chairman of the Islamic Religious Community of Upper Austria Binur Mustafi, Priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church Linz Dragan Micic, Pastor of the Old Catholic Church Linz Samuel Ebner and other guests of honor will take place.
