We arrive at Jesus’ baptismal site, cross the Jordan, and are now in Israel, respectively, the occupied West Bank.
After visiting Jericho and making a side trip to the Dead Sea, we begin our ascent from the Jordan Valley, which lies under sea level, into the mountainous area of Judea.
From there, the way leads us further through majestic stone deserts. After passing the last checkpoint, we actually reach Bethlehem on Christmas Eve – what an unforgettable day in our life and pilgrim journeys!
And finally, after being on the road for months, the very last leg begins; we are allowed to reach our final destination on foot: Jerusalem!!
