Day

Arrival Austria - Budapest - Mohacs

St. Stephen's Cathedral meeting point in Budapest.

Arrived in Budapest, a wonderful view of the city l t our heart beat faster.

From above we get a little glimpse of Budapest.

Nobody can deny a SMILE in EHREN.

We are approaching Mohacs and after a short walk we visit a memorial.

The path should be marked.

Lively pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the Danube Cycle Path.

The waymarking on the "Jerusalemweg" should not be missing.

We visit a historical memorial in Mohacs.

The memorial commemorates the 18.000 soldiers who were killed in the battle on August 29, 1526.

A broken heart is depicted in a work of art.

Day

Mohacs - Novi Sad (Fortress) - Hike in the Danube floodplains - Belgrade

We cross to Foot the bridge over the Danube.

An old sticker from our pilgrimage in 2010 holds the position and a new sticker with the dove of peace has a new place.

 Belgrade - sveti Sava - Wire - Studenica 

A visit to the castle in Belgrade should not be missed.

Mitrovica - Blackbird field - Pristina - Monastery Gracanica

Franz has his bus in safe hands.

Everyone has FULL confidence.

Here, too, the joy was great when we found a sticker from our pilgrimage in 2010. A new sticker was added, double the effect is even more.

On this bridge in Mitrovica two districts connect.

In Pri tina we meet Mother Theresa for the first time.

This 64 meter high church tower is the tallest building in the city.

The monastery Gracanica is a jewel of orthodox church building.

This church is frescoed from floor to ceiling.

Special stone formations are typical for the karst landscape.

In Janjevo live Croatians who have kept their Catholic faith for centuries.

The church patron is St. Nicholas.

Behind the church is a grotto of Lourdes.

Pristina - hike  Yearbook - Skopje

Shar Plain - the Mountains separates Kosovo from Albania.

On the way to Yearbook.

Albanians living in Kosovo see themselves as descendants of the Illyrian - hier Illyricum Park.

After 10 kilometers your feet are grateful for the cooling.

A small animal zoo makes the break more interesting.

On the route to Yearbook we meet our priest who already hosted us in the rectory in 2010.

A school bus is only slightly overloaded, there is no space golden value.

Skopje - Mother Teresa - Millennium Cross - Mladost Reservoir - Demir Gate

A government building that can be seen.

And it continues on the exploration tour in Scopie.

We visit an underground church.

Most magnificent Iconosthase Macedonia

A visit to a mosque should not be missed.

We were able to attend a cultural event.

Scopie As the capital of Macedonia with 530.000 inhabitants, it offers sculptures, fountains and other works of art almost everywhere.

An old sticker from our pilgrimage in 2010 is easily taken and has of course been replaced.

On the hike to Mladost Reservoir we have light rain, but it passed quickly.

Iron Gate - hike Widow - Matured Reservoir - Kato Poroia

After 1h30 there can be a break.

Refugees from Syria on the way. They are looking for a place where they can stay. A situation where we could make a small contribution financially.

After 4 hours a picnic was organized for us, where everyone was more than full.

Everyone can find their cookies.

A small nap is also something fine.

All clear for departure.

Day

Kato Poroia - Hike Kerkini Reservoir - stathmos Lefkotheas - Eicosifoinissis

On the way there are several observation towers where you can see the lake.

The area around the Kerkini Reservoir is diverse Bird species.

After 1 to 2 hours there is always a little break.

On the way you will always find small chapels at the edge of the road.

Along the lake we always find old path marking stickers, which have also been marked with new ones.

There will be plenty of offspring. Pure joie de vivre.

When the sun comes from behind, you sit on the horse upside down.

Monastery Eicosifoinissis is one of the oldest monasteries in Macedonia.

Large space Eicosifoinissis - Philippi - Kavala - Alexandroupoli

Another visit to a very special monastery.

Departure for our last hike. our ROYAL STAGE.

Everything is packed, from water to picnic snacks.

A little side trip to the cow paradise.

When you arrive at your destination, you shouldn't miss a final group photo. Thanks to Johannes, who put these wonderful paths together for us.

Unfortunately, no ship took us, so we have to continue by bus.

We are waiting for the ENTIRE GROUP.

Philippi the FIRST church that Paul founded in Europe and thus spread CHRISTIANITY in Europe.

 

Here is the baptismal site of St. Lydia. Paul did his FIRST baptism in Europe here and that was a woman. Something very SPECIAL for our Lidija.

Since Paul often encountered resistance through the spread of Christianity, he became des More often also locked up. Here an alleged prison.

The sheep are clearly VERY GOOD here.

This wonderful church and adjoining church is located near the excavation sites Riverwhere the baptism of LYDIA really should have taken place.

A wonderful place to stay and recharge your batteries.

We say goodbye to this UNIQUE place.

 As a contrast, the spare parts store from a scrap dealer.

Kavala has us again and we are walking on historical ground, where Paul left the city for Philippi.

We get ready to walk this stretch barefoot so that we can better feel the energy.

Our small group has already enlarged.

With this short hike we can end our pilgrimage and we say a big THANK YOU to everyone who was there.

In the hotel there was a small birthday party for our Elisabeth from K rnten at midnight.
