We start in France at the foot of the Pyrenees in the pilgrim stronghold of St.-Jean-Pied-de-Port and cross the whole of France from the Pyrenees through the Massif Central to the beginning of the Alps where we finally cross the border into Switzerland on foot near Geneva.
